Vision of the Founders

Shalom Ministries was started by Vijay K.Y. Thadanki on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in obedience to a Vision given in a fasting prayer cell, in a tribal area, over the Mount of Glory-Shalom, Nellipudi in 1990.

Vijay is an evangelist, a pastor and a missionary to the unreached and the tribals. He holds a Masters Degree and a Teaching (B.Ed) qualification. He was on the teaching profession in the government. In 1970, after the sudden demise of his wife, he was called to the ministry. He resigned his job and started following the Lord’s footsteps, witnessing for Him. During 1971-74 he underwent the Theological training at the seminary of Bishop’s college in Calcutta. During that period he had the privilege of being with Mother Theresa. In 1974 he was ordained in the Church of South India. He also underwent the Leadership Training of Haggai’s Institute. He served also as the Organizing Secretary of the National Missionary Society of India, the first indigenous missionary organization in India

On the 17th of June 1976 he was challenged by the Vision of the Lord through Acts 1:8 to be a witness unto the Lord. Since then he has been witnessing, forming an evangelistic team on the name GO OUT FOR CHRIST Evangelistic Team. Since he was constrained by the Love of Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:14) he obeyed His Commission (Matthew 28:19) as a true disciple, reaching the unreached, preaching in the streets, distributing tracts, showing films of Jesus and evangelized more that 4000 villages in India.

In 1989 the Lord provided a praying woman, PUSHPAVIJAYA as his wife, who has been assisting him in this blessed task. And the Lord gave them the VISION to train and send Missionaries to save more souls and help the poor and the needy. In 2000 AMSTERDAM CONFERENCE the Lord gave a goal to prepare 10,000 Missionaries, for the harvest is plenty and the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37). They have the priority to revive the church, evangelize the people and to strategize with the whole Body of Christ for the expansion of the Lord’s Kingdom in the new Millennium until Jesus comes.
